The Endocannabinoid and Cannabinoid Program: THC and CBD for Patients is a comprehensive overview of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) – a biochemical communication system that helps regulate various critical functions within the human body. Only recently has this intricate system received the attention it deserves, as numerous scientific studies indicate a link between the endocannabinoid system and a variety of diseases and chronic health conditions. And, for many who suffer from diseases and chronic health conditions related to deficiencies within the endocannabinoid system, medical cannabis – and its primary active ingredient tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – and non-psychoactive cannabidiol (CBD) hold enormous potential as safe, effective, and non-toxic therapies. In this course, we will explore the various functions of the endocannabinoid system, and provide a detailed overview of THC and CBD. In addition, we will review the health benefits and potential side effects of THC and CBD, and discover how these compounds work within the body to balance the endocannabinoid system and promote optimal health.
