Module Overview

The gastrointestinal system, which is responsible for the digestion of food, is comprised of several organs that interact with one another to extract energy and nutrients from food. Medical cannabis – and its primary active ingredient THC - and cannabidiol (CBD) have been demonstrated to provide adjunctive therapeutic benefits in several common gastrointestinal diseases and disorders, including Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s disease and colon cancer.
